MCHO RULESET
The MCHO ruleset prioritizes safety over risk. The primary differences from other rulesets is that there is no tempo defined for afterblows, only distance - fencers must create space in order to receive points for a clean hit, and if they linger in range for too long, any afterblow is valid. this makes the withdrawal of an exchange more important than the entry.
This adds an additional layer of strategy and removes the ability to game timing with fast strikes. Other features of the ruleset are longer matches (3 minutes of full time - the clock stops for judging), everyone moves on to elims, and a minimum amount of volunteering.
A change log will be updated here as the ruleset is modified from previous years.
